Evaluation of Regulation (EC)

In September 2017, the European Commission launched the  evaluation of the Feed Additives (FAs) Regulation, an initiative which was welcomed and supported by FEFANA and its experts.

The Farm to Fork Strategy for a fair, healthy and environmentally-friendly food system, launched in May 2020 and at the heart of the European Green Deal, has recognised the revision of the FAs Regulation an action point.

FEFANA experts are committed to continue providing inputs to inform decision makers throughout the process of modernisation of the regulation, in the effort to remove any substantial contraint on innovation in the feed chain.

Next steps

FEFANA will continue to oversee the different steps of the EU evaluation process, making sure that all relevant aspects will be captured in the data collection process supporting the currently ongoing EU Impact Assessment procedure which must compare the policy options on the basis of their economic, social and environmental impacts (quantified costs and benefits whenever possible).
